A cycle ride

The Active Medway team offer a variety of group walks, cycling groups and community exercise sessions. Why not search through our services (using the services search directory on the right) to see what we have on offer. Sessions are subject to change, so we always recommend getting in touch, before just turning up.

Walking

Our Health Walks are short, social walks that are led by Volunteer Walk Leaders.  They are designed to help people get the most out of walking for their physical and mental health, and also provide a great opportunity to meet new people.

The groups are friendly and supportive, so are particularly beneficial to those who are getting little or no exercise, recovering from illness or lacking in confidence.  All our walks are clearly graded so you can see how long they are and if they include any hills.

Our walks range from 30 – 60 mins. All walks are free and led by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders.  We try to ensure that refreshment facilities and toilets are available on our walks, but sometimes this is not possible.

We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and bring a drink and weather-proof coat when attending a walk.  If you have any questions on any aspects of Health Walks please get in touch. Dogs on leads are also welcome on most walks.

Our walks are delivered all year round, with the exception of public / bank holidays.

Cycling

Get more confident on your bike with free, guided cycling sessions for over-18s. Active Medway Cycling Groups take place across Medway at various times, so you can enjoy cycling, whatever your ability.

All you need is a roadworthy bike and basic safety equipment. All rides are led by trained Ride Leaders, who volunteer their time to show people the benefits that cycling can bring.

Exercise sessions

The Active Medway team have accredited a number of community exercise sessions in Medway. We have visited and tried the sessions listed, and have checked that the providers have suitable insurance, qualifications and customer service skills to deliver quality sessions. All of the listed sports clubs that have a children’s section, have been awarded Clubmark status.

We are continually adding new sessions to the schedule, but hope that this list can offer something for everyone.
